Making a Difference: Sole Hope

(Asher teaching us the art of shoe cutting:)

We had the BEST time on Saturday night.

Our friends Dru and Asher were in town and they stopped by to talk about Sole Hope.
Sole Hope was started by Asher. She was watching a video on the devastating effects of jiggers on the feet of people (especially children) in Africa. After watching the video she told us "I just had to something. I did not know what it was but I had to do something".

Watch the video below to hear the Sole Hope story....

A few of us gathered to cut the denim/material for the shoes to be sewn in Africa. The material we cut Friday night will be taken over in the spring.
It was a privilege for all of us to hear the story of Sole Hope and how they are making a real tangible difference in the lives of widows and orphans.

Right now, Sole Hope is nominated for a $50,000 grant.
Cultivate Wines has decided to host "The Give" in which they will give one of 30 causes nominated $50,000. To help Sole Hope, visit here EVERY DAY for the next 5 weeks and vote for them. You can make a difference in the lives of many, many people!!!

I have a special giveaway for you!
Please vote and then leave a comment on this post letting me know you voted.
Then, on Sunday March 4th, I will pick a winner for this Sole Hope cuff.

On a personal note, Sole Hope means more to me than a good cause.
It represents more than just a wonderful non-profit.
As a mother who has seen the effects of not wearing shoes, I understand the
importance of shoes guarding against disease and promoting health.
For me, this cause helps all the children, just like my girls, who have no shoes.
Sole Hope represents a chance for me to make a difference in the lives of those children who will not be adopted and those children who families cannot provide for them.
(my sweet miss little M enjoying the party:)

Please vote today!!!
(oh, and every day for the next 5 weeks :)
